limp mode no check engine light

Wife pulling her horse trailer with her 2008 F450 6.4 diesel. First time truck goes into limp mode, she calls, I show up and find nothing wrong. Start truck and drive home no problems. No check engine light when it happened and on the way home. About a week later it does it again, limp mode and no check engine light. Took it into Ford. Day one only thing on computer was a P1000 code. They could not reproduce the problem. Took it home but they wanted it in again. Day 2 still no problem found. Said drive it and when it happens again do not shut it off and get it to them. Can be a problem if she has horses in the trailer.

Any ideas?

I bet you just need to have this tsb applied...although it should have shown up.

Without the code it is customer pay for the flash.
