i have an 06 f250 the truck has 75000 on it. I bought the truck in december. I drive it pretty gently most the time. A litte bit ago i floore it to beat a red light and notied some black smoke. When i took of from the next light i stood on it again no black smoke that time. Should i be worried about anything? It is completly stock at this point.
You were just clearing out a little soot accumulation. Romp on it every once in a while. It will keep your variable vane turbo cleaner.
Could you define "romp"? Like give it full throttle for a stoplight? Fire her up to 80mph on the interstate?
Reason I ask, is mine did the same thing as the OP. I drive it about 2-3 times a week, usually in town, so she rarely gets a work out. Only when hauling a 5000 lb trailer a few times a year.
Don't do anything dangerous. Just go to full throttle under load for a couple seconds. Merging onto the highway or puling a hill are good opportunities.
These engines were designed to work, so they will accumulate some soot in the exhaust if they are never rode hard.
