Have an 01 P/S with 4" exhaust and a Bully Dog programmer set at Extreme level. Truck has been running a little sluggish and to day while running on the highway, doing about 70, I hit the throttle hard. Not WOT, but close. Along with the normal black smoke I noticed some whiteish exhaust coming out as well. Fuel filters were changed last November, oil and air fliter cleaned about 1 1/2 months ago. Truck idles fine, and the only DTC's were P0603 ( recently reset the programming so this hadn't cleared yet) and P1249 (which I have had and hasn't caused any problems). It was mostly black exhaust, but I am worried about the white smoke that came out. Please help.

Any oil in the tailpipe?

 

Curtis, no oil in the tail pipe. I took the truck out today. I noticed that the white smoke comes out when I hit the throttle fast and hard, while driving. If I press the throttle a little smoother, but quick enough for smoke, then it is just black smoke. Romped on the throttle while in park, just black smoke. Maybe I am being paranoid!
