fix chrome grille
What is the best way to fix a chromed grille that has surface rust, no holes, few dings, just bad surface rust. Can it be rechromed? Can it be sandblasted and painted?

Abe, I've removed rust with Eagle 1 mag wheel cleaner for aluminum non coated rims. the acid will eat the rust. I sprayed it on let it sit for about 10 minutes then wiped it with damp rag, when done hose it off with water. It doesn't eat the chrome but it sure eats the rust. Just a suggestion. That'll work, as will any good rust cleaner. Can find at most car parts store (Napa, etc) or hardware store. Don't get anything TOO abrasive and take it down slowly (don't put a lot of elbow into it), for obvious reasons. And yes, it can be rechromed.
