I know there's a thread on wipers but I don't want to hijack so here it goes: I have a 1960 F-100 and on the dash there's a toggle switch inside the wiper chrome bezel. Is that original or was there a white **** like all the other ones? Also is the wiper motor vaccum or electric powered? Mine seems to be an electric I thought these had to be vaccum powered back then. Anyways, Thanks for the help in advance hopefully I'll get this figured out and put back to original if thats the case.
The original switch was a 3 position (counting the off position) rotary switch with the white **** like the rest of the controls. Turning the **** to the right increases the wiper speed.
Vacuum wipers were still in use on some 1960 trucks.
Electric wipers were an option on 1960 trucks with the 223 6 cyl., but were standard with the V-8 for 1960.
