Okay previous posting I asked something about my front differential. Well I will repeat again, so I found a tab on my front differential that said 5011 and then 4.55. Can anyone tell me what this means and if so can you tell me what type of differential it is? If you need a photo let me know. I think this will help to determine my steering problem once I know the type of differential I can figure this all out.

If in a 4wd truck if it is still the factory differential it would or should be a Dana 44. 4:55 is the gear ratio it is on number off of the rear gear ratio which is probably a 4:56. Photo would be nice also but I fail to see or understand how knowing what axle you have under the front is going to lead you to correction of your steering problems. What kind of steering problems are you having. Loose steering, hard steering, wheels rubbing, shakes at speed???? Steering problems may be more related to the steering gear box at the end of the steering column. Gemmer steering box.
