6.4 tranny problems

My brother got a new (to him) truck. It's a 2008 f350 srw 6.4 powerstroke with the EGR and DPF delete. It also has a SCT Livewire tuner. The tunes are: Tow, street, extreme street, race lock. We've had the truck in all tunes except extreme street. Now when we change tunes, for the first three miles, the trans feels sluggish and it slips, but it usually goes away after three or five miles. Now when we put it in extreme street, the trans will not go back to normal, and I'm afraid of further damage. We tried all other tunes (as we thought it was just the nature of that specific tune) and it is still doing it. Also when it's in reverse, the rear end jumps around as soon as you give it throttle. Anybody here have any knowledge with the sct tunes, what (if any) is the learning period is, and possible fixes? Also it'll throw on a service light while driving. It's a P30L30 there are also more codes, I will post later on tonight.
Thanks
Aaron.

It is your tuner...remove the tuner, Pull the battery cables to get the trans to relearn.

Hi Aaron,

I'd be curious to see what the other codes were, and I can't find P30L30 anywhere, so I'd double check that this is correct.

It sounds to me like he fried the transmission. I'd certainly attempt to disconnect the tuner like Scott said, but the fact that the problem has gotten worse implies to me that damage has been done. Hate to say it, but if you want to play you have to pay...forcing the powertrain to handle more power than it was ever designed to is sure to cause things to wear out before they otherwise would.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think he needs a new transmission.

Everybody wants these big HP tunes

BUT they FRY Tranny's.

I'm all in on removing the cat converter, dpfe filter & both EGR coolers & a tuner to do ONLY this

But race, performance, economy etc tunes are extremely hard on transmissions
