Are the manifolds for the Flathead interchangeable with the Y block V8? I'm having my carb rebuilt, and the the guy rebuilding it believes it's from a flathead. Does that make sense?
The manifolds are completely different, but both use 3-bolt carbs with the same bolt pattern. Flatheads used the Holley 94, Y-blocks used the Holley model 2110, which is an evolution of the 94. Why does he think it's off a flathead?

Just because of the base pattern, but thanks for the model number information.
He's only seeing the carburetor-which is very similar to those used on Flatheads. In fact, over the years someone may have replaced the one on the Y-Block with one from a Flathead. Everything from 1949 thru 1955 was practically the same.
Obviously. there is NO similarity, other than the carb mounting flange, between the two engines.
