Tire sizes...

It's that time, after getting the front end in order now I'm going to replace those first. Does anyone run the 265/75/r16e on the front since there the same dia. as the 235/85/r16e. Was going to go this route since I can only rotate the front side to side, and the dually rears stay in the rear. Just wondering if anyone else does this.

Not really a direct answer to your question....but I run 245/70R19.5 on the steer axle and 225/70R19.5 on the drive axles. Not sure why, I bought the truck that way. Doesn't seem to affect anything. In my situation, the front tires are larger dia then the rears and it still works....no ABS issues. I presume you would be good to run 265s up front without any worries if you would like.

if 2wd it will not hurt, i have seen people run smaller and larger on the front and no problem for 1000s of miles.
and the tire are almost the same size so i would not worry.

Its funny they are the same size diameter tire and everyones answer is for diffrent size diameter tires.

*****edit***** the 265's are 31.6" and the 235's are 31.7". Still not a noticable diffrence.

There should be no issue with it. I would bring it up at the tire shop and see their reaction. If they say yes you can and that small chance it wont work they should swap it with no issues.

235/85R 16 = 32 X 9.50 X 16
265/75R 16 = 32 X 10.50 X 16
since the only difference is in the width of the tire, you will have no problems with running the 265's on the fronts and the 235's on the rear.

Thanks guys, since Sam's club has the 265's in stock of the tire I want I may have them put those on and order the 235's for the rear.
