disc brake conversion using 5 on 5.5 rotors, what do I need ?

How well did everything bolt up? Any problems? I'm considering their stuff down the line

Clean look, almost like a factory install. OP, most of these kits you'll see on the interwebz are available either complete or stripped down. With the stripped down kits you use salvage yard ford truck rotors/hubs and GM big car calipers from, IIRC, late '70's to early '80's. I plan on running drums to start, but I have a pair of the proper rotors. They've been turned already

 

It has been a few years, but if I remember correctly you remove all the old stuff and reverse the pin that holds the king pin in place. I replaced the kin pins at the same time. Bolt the bracket on. That is the most important part. The calipers and are late 70's GM, the rotor are late off an f150. You have to change the bearing race and the bearing to fit the old spindles. Need a hydraulic hose, need a new master cylinder, I use one from a 1973 F100 that had disc and drum. It was cheap and didn't need a proportioning valve. I also used the booster and mounting bracket from the 73. The kit is easier, but after the bracket, the rest can come from a salvage yard.

 

Be sure to read this "How-To." Had I read it before I did mine, it would have been 1000x easier! Good photos, too.
