Welcome to FTE!!!

It should be just one bolt at the top and one at the bottom. If the new ones have something holding them compressed don't cut it until you have them in place. Should be a very easy job but I have not changed mine so I can't say for sure.

shocks

I own a 1999 ranger off road 4 by 4 and if it is the same. You will have little problems changing the shocks. The rears had planty of clearance for hands and wrinches. To remove the top nut on the front shock I use a deep scoket and a long extention 1/2 drive and just bend the top nut and shock shaft back and forth untill the nut snaps of. The reason I do this is because the front shock shaft spins when you try to unscrew it.

I tryed medum priced shocks and noticed a better ride on the street and off roading at the silver lake sand dunes in michigan. If you ask me the factor shocks were not good. I got the liftime garentee and will change them every 40,000 miles

Good trucking to you

sincerely........:-)
