i own a 93 f-150 4x4 ifs front suspension and a skyjacker 6" lift. my friend gave me a brand new set of front shocks, exctly the ones i have on there now. my question is where/how can i buy a dual shock mout bracket. there is already a shock stud on the axle so all i need is the bracket that holds the existing shock and coil spring. Thanx.

be careful when installing dual shocks. I have seen dual shock setups crack frames over time. I guess the shocks I saw were too stiff, or the wrong legnth. I know dual shock setups look cool, but if the shocks you have on now dampen the ride adequately, i imagine that doubling the dampening ability will create a harsh ride and i can see how that can lead to frame cracking. my advise is to purchase a dual shock setup from a reputable parts supplier, one with softer shocks made for a dual set up

When you get dual shock kits from lift companies they are specifically designed to have 2 shocks running together. you do not efectivally "double" the damping of the ride. If you add 2 shocks that are designed to be used in a single shock setup you will have a VERY harsh ride. Dual setups are rated lower individually so this does not happen. When you see triple kits, this is even more critical. Any engineers out there will now that "C" (a dampening constant) plays a large role in the equation for damped harmonic motion, which is a way to correlate suspension travel. That is why frames will crack when the dampening rate is doubled.
I'm sorry fella's but i have to disagree. Think of all the stress the frame has been through already! how would a couple of extra shocks make that much difference? i just don't see the logic! please correct me, however, if i am wrong! thanx
