I have an 06 F250 the problem with the Ac is that it dont work while im parked but as long as my
Truck is driving its working what can the problem be any suggestions on how to diagnosis the problem
While 69cj is probably right you need the work done by a certified tech only. EPA/Federal regulations are pretty strict on this.
Also their fines are also pretty stiff. Those fines are applied to both the tech and the owner and since they are in the 1000's of $$$ that $100 repair can get espensive real quick.
Yea I'd just take it in to a reputable shop instead of wasting your money on those cans you can buy at the auto parts store. Mine's in the shop right now for a new accumulator (drier), orifice tube and full evac/recharge to spec.
Mine did that my condenser was beat to pieces and I had metal on the orifice tube. I replaced it and the compressor and orifice tube and drier then flushed the core and hoses and pulled a vacuum and refilled. It's not hard nor is it illegal to do your own.
I'm tired of the government sticking its nose in my business... But that's another board! Lol
The previous owner of my truck used ac stop leak and it clogged my system up. Thru Toulsey I replaced the evap, condenser, compressor, dryer, orifice tube, and both hoses. All parts shipped to me in AZ was 800.00 last May. I installed and took to shop and paid just over 200.00 to evac, charge and check for leaks.
You can do A/C work on your own vehicle without certification, you CANNOT work on somebody else's a/c and receive compensation without being certified.
I hate to disagree with ya bullit but the regs state no one can release freon of anytype into the environment, you need to use a recovery machine and not many home owners etc are gonna have 3k worh of recovery machine.
You can however top up freon on your own as long as his only problem is being low then he could do it himself.
The rules are funny anyone can buy freon 134A but ya have to be certified to work on it even tho 134A is not supposed to be harmful to the environment.

I never said anything about releasing freon into the atmosphere. Only it is legal for an owner to work on their own a/c. An uncertified individual CANNOT work on another persons car for compensation. That means cash, goods or even a 6 pack.
Now... How that vehicle owner discharges the freon is up to them... Wink wink nudge nudge
