Here's what I started with. I didn't take any pics as I was completing the patch because I was kind of flying by the seat of my pants. I made the 3/4" bottom and side then I made the larger back piece and welded them together to make a panel like you see.

3rd pic is inside the cab. You can see where the rust converter has changed the rust to black. At least its black without a camera flash. And the 4rth pic is with the new patch installed. The orange paint is where my low spots are that need to be bumped out. It's not perfect but it works for me and I'm happy with how it turned out.

Subscribing. I'll be trying my 2004 cab corners with this method. Surface rust now, but i want to kill it before it spreads and rots the whole thing out.

Then later I need to do the bedside wheel arches... They have the typical rust because of the stupid foam sealant or whatever they used.

Rust converter

I am pleased to read of the positive reviews of rust converter as I just started this weekend on my new project. I was experimenting with the process starting with brush on converter after sanding and or wire brushing followed by a rust preventer primer which may be zinc rich (not sure). What product is being used in hidden areas like under the box, inner side of fenders as a finish coat? I was thinking of using an undercoat type product. Any suggestions?
