Im in the middle of the installation of the coolant filter and Im having trouble to unbolt the plug of the water pump in the left side below of the thermostat, it is frozen (I hope I explain myself), what to do?
The space is very tight there. Im also going to reseal the thermostat because is leaking. I have de 203*, can I reuse the stock one? I think it is in good conditions
I spryed with some penetrate and tapped with a little hammer, and no dice, Im going to wait some more time. With a pic, I cleaned the perifery (spl?) of the plug and it looks like a red stuff there, IDK.
If your t-stat is in good shape and working properly, I don't see why you couldn't reuse it, but if I was in there anyway, I'd replace it, but that's just me.
Is the end of the plug square Jose? There are sockets that fit the square studs. If you could get one, maybe with an extension and swivel, you could give it a couple bumps with an impact.

No the square plug NO dice, I put more penetrant and Im waiting. Yes I found a socket that fit, Im going to figure out IF I can get the combo to get there with an impact.
The thermostat was working fine, just I saw the ad of diesel site and the comments here in FTE and convinced mi to change for the 203*, but now its leaking, maybe I just put sealant and reuse the actual 203*. More, I cant find the OEM rigth now, I dont know where I stored
Well after several hours trying to unbolt the plug, I gave up, maybe next saturday I will continue, and if I cant, Im going to use the heather hoses to install the bypass and also I hope I can do the AC mod and the t/stat
Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble getting that plug out, my biggest problem was finding something that would fit the square hole. Mine came right out almost like it was already loose. I think you are on the right track with the advise your getting here good luck
