I kinda thought by your description your plug was an external square but wasn't sure. You could try a little heat on it. Propane or butane torch. Lightly of course. Might be enough to loosen up the thread sealant. Pretty tight quarters to work in.

Yes Pete, external square.
Update: Well I couldnt loose that plug, and then I realiced that the pump was leaking as the t-stat, so I ended pulling the WP today and tomorrow Im planning to install the new one, and with luck, I hope to install the coolant filter and the AC mod. Anyway Im going to unbolt the plug with the WP in the vise, just for piece in my mind
Sounds like a plan for better ac and clean coolant!
Well it sounded like a plan, but I receive an invitacion to go to the country club, SO, I just put the heater tube, the temp sensor, the new fitting for the coolant filter hose, mentioned that the new plug there was an exagonal female 8 mm wrench and prepared the installation of the t-stat (the 203*) and new gasket, planning to put some sealent there something like permatex, and then install the outlet tube there with a new home made ring and new bolts with antisieze. This will continue probably next thursday afternoon after work.
One question, I have read several write ups about replacement of the WP and no one said if I have to put antisieze in the bolts there? Any comment will be appreciate.
BTW I need a big pipe wrench to pull the infamous plug of the WP, being in the vise, and for the new exagonal plug a use a 8 mm wrench with a piece of pipe to help with the torque. Both were very tight
I will upload some pics later.
You can use antisieze if you wish Jose, but you don't have to.
Thank you Darin, I didnt used it. I dont have a torquimeter with low inch/lbs, so I use the "manual" torquimeter, I hope dont have any issues with that.
You'll be fine. That's what I always use for things like a water pump.
Of course, I regularly get my arm checked for torque accuracy..
I recalibrated mine last year. LOL
BTW I have one torquimeter 1/4 drive but is wrong, I have 3 other torquimeters but they are about 20 inch/lbs to up or foot/lbs, Im looking for one with scale 0-30/50 inch/lbs, do you recomend one?
I just bought a used one at a pawn store, can't remember what brand. Avoid the craftsman inch lb wrench, i got one at christmas time, total junk. IF you could get it to work, you couldn't tell when it was time to stop. Usually I couldn't even get the loosen/tighten switch to even work. Returned for a refund. BTW, its made in china. I guess my recommendation is one NOT made in china.
