1979 f150 ignition problems
I went out to local junk yard and pulled a good wiring harness for the truck, and hooked it up and the truck will not fire, start or do nothing.
I'm not too good with the wiring diagrams online that are available.
So, I'm wondering if anyone would be able to point me in the right direction, the truck will not start, nothing, none of the lights work, none of the accessories work, I'm lost. I figured that the fuse panel was not getting power, but i'm unable to find the wire that provides a ground or positive.
I did try jumping the ignition coil and nothing happens except a couple sparks, any help would be greatly appreciated.
If need be I'd rewire the ignition, and put it as a push button, its just a mud/toy truck.
Thanks, Jeff.
No power to anything at all usually points to a blown fusible link, but without understanding what you're working with, it's tough to point you in the right direction. In other words, it's not clear yet how what you're working with differs from the factory setup. For us to help, you need to use exact and specific terms; anyone of us should be able to copy your exact setup based off your description.
