Steering Year setup?
Here is my issue, when turning the steering wheel I find that I have a severe amount of play, while getting under truck looking at where the power steering control valve connects to it is the pitman arm which then connects to a spindle which is attached to the drivers side front axle/wheel. My question is what is that spindle called? I already know this setup can't be from a 1961 4x4 due to the fact that they did not offer it at this time a power steering setup.
I discovered that while turning the wheel to the left or right after the play has been removed and it feels like it is about to grab and turn, the spidle like item moves slightly but the tire does not move at all. I have posted three photos, one has two red arrows pointing to this spidle attached to the wheel.
Then next issue I have is the power steering cylinder on passenger side of truck is leaking I believe near the hoses connect. I checked all connections I see nothing so its possible it needs replaced or rebuilt. What is this particular part called as well. Reference to photo showing one red arrow pointing to it.
And last what type of differentail does this truck have? Dana? I will do my best to post the photos here so that it makes more sense.

1973: First year P/S available in F100/250 4WD's, was Power Assist, but 1974 F250's used two totally different types, depends on serial number.
F250 4WD: 1973, 1974 before serial number T80,001: Garrison Power Assist P/S // 1974 from serial number T80,001, 1975/77 (all "High Boys"): Bendix Power Assist P/S.
1973/75 F100 4WD, 1975 F150 4WD: Garrison Power Assist, but parts may/may not be same as F250 4WD w/Garrison.
Bracket in 1st & 3rd pics are someone's fabrications.
Also, where on the Frame in the VIN code? It's obvious its not a 1960's frame I wouldn't think so it must be 70's are there any other place to look for that hidden VIN on a 70's era?
Also, you mentioned first year was 1973 but then said 1974 used two different setups. So did you mean the first year power assist was used was 1973 and that same year two different types were used and only way to know for sure is serial number?
Anyways if I can find serial number that would help and also where I could located hidden VIN tag? That is if there is one lol.
Just throwing this out there.... maybe you need to vent the hydraulic system. If there is trapped air, you will have little or even no response. I have never done this myself.
