Issues with my 2000 E-250

Issues with my 2000 E-250
Hello Everyone,
I would like to run a couple of current issues I'm having by you guys, before I start unknowingly tearing into it.
I have a 2000 E-250 extended van.
Problem 1:
•started about two months ago.
•The Cruz control no longer works or activates using the buttons on the steering wheel.
Problem 2:
•started about one month ago
•the overdrive seems (I can feel it shift) to work when pushing the button on the shift column but the lighted word overdrive constantly flashes on and off and does not show if on or off
I have time to start looking at the van this weekend, so any info and direction would be very much appreciated!

for the overdrive, start by checking the fuses. a simple blown fuse will knock out the system. if that doesn't do it, you'll have to dig a little deeper...
for the overdrive thing, i would suggest plugging in a diagnostic computer and see if it wants to tell you anything. if i remember right, the flashing OD light indicates some kind of fault in the system

+1 on the flashing OD light---there's a fault somewhere causing that, a code scanner being one of the few if not only way to know what's going on there.
for the CC you'll have a few fuses to check plus the high mounted stop light bulbs too----they can affect CC's operation. A EVTM book with all schematics is a must have for most of us. Barring that being available I might have a copy of your needed schematic I could post here---have the same year E250 myself.
