I have a 93 ford f150 with an inline 6. Motors toast but have a 96 f250 with a 5.8l 351 w. That engines good. Gonna swap out motors to 150. Guess my question is will the motor mounts need to be swapped out? What else would i need to swap out too? If anybody could help id really appreciate it
You can use frame mounts and hardware from the 96.
Best and easiest way to wire it up will be to grab an engine wire harness from a 93 truck and it will all plug right in and run.
96 front end is screwed. Not to much i can do with it. 93 has a good body, frame, and everthing seems to be in tip top cept motor. Thanks for the info untamnd
Garret 8, the inline was blown before i came across it. Was a company truck and nobody seemed to do the daily or weekly matinence on it. Blown head gaskets are the rumor. Need to check it out myself
What trans in each truck.
Sometimes trans is in exact same location and your driveshafts will be fine in the 150. The 250 has different lengths because the diffs are bigger.
Someone else will need to fill you in on potential trans wiring differences (if both are e4od trans) Technically the 351 will bolt to the 300-6 trans. So if the 96 ecu is speed density then no extra wiring for trans is needed I don't think.
I dont have the 150 on hand right now so dont know the trans yet. So guessin best thing is to get it here and go from there. Thanks again for info untamnd
