My oil filter stand gasket is leaking and I have the gasket and am getting ready to drain coolant/flush/oil change/gasket fix and am just wondering which antifreeze to use. 2000 F150 4.6L 2WD. Thanks.
No manual. Bought the truck a year ago and it's long gone. Just turned 290,000 miles yesterday. Didn't mean to come off being demanding. Sorry sir. Just frustrated that 51 people viewed my question and didn't even offer any advise. Thanks bro. Peace
Go to Ford Fleet Maintaince website and navagate to down load manuel for your year.
If your printer can print both sides of the paper it uses only half the amount.
The antifreeze is somewhat specific for Fords.
When you shop, look on the labels to be sure of it's compatability for Ford.
GM spec antifreeze is not a good choice to use.
Good luck.
Any green coolant that meets Ford ESE-M97B44-A will also work, but Prestone is junk.
Motorcraft VC-5 is worth the $$ premium, IMHO.
Hold on, Big, why is Prestone junk? I ain't got nary hound in the chase, but I thought it was good? Hep me, hep me, please. I might have to go flush my truck that I just flushed and filled with Prestone!
These Ford motors are speced for certain antifreeze formulations due to the metals, and gaskets used.

I've had the best luck/longevity with Motorcraft VC-5, with a thorough flush/fill with distilled and a 50/50 ratio I've gone upwards of 50K miles with this stuff and no visible sediment/corrosion, discoloration, just a spot-less coolant system.
I've had similarly good results from Zerex and Texaco/Havoline green coolants in Modulars.
Prestone, in my experience, despite advertising ESE-M97B44-A compliance (though not approval) consistently leaves evidence of significant corrosion in my Modular cooling systems within 20-30K. IMHO, it's trash for Modular cooling systems.
My personal preference is Motorcraft VC-5, but can also recommend:
