The second is model no. 17092 and has a "#2" at the bottom of the face indicating that it is the second pyrometer. EDIT: DO NOT BUY for a dual EGT setup (see Tugly's post below).
well I ran around town picking up bits to put an underhood guage in today while tugly made a very valid argument for an interior fuel guage. anyway I am pushing 70 psi underhood at idle. I'll keep an eye on it and when it drops to 60 psi I'll swap filters, I know I have to be picking up a lot of junk in the bottom of that tank.
Why are electric oil pressure guages $20 and fuel pressure guages are $200 I don't see the diffrence other than the lettering on the guage?
The $210 price for the single fuel pressure gauge to match my other gauges is what made me go with the AeroForce scan gauge. Total after shipping was $325. It does the fuel pressure along with showing every other sensor on the truck. Now I will have my AE to record logs and this gauge to monitor everything when I am just out driving.
I need to check my fuel pressure after doing some mods. Just for checking I've heard before an air pressure gauge can be used. I assume this is true since the mechanics are the same but I have to ask, any reason not to?
I am way out of my league here, but I use a dial water pressure gauge (Home Depot or Harbor Freight?) for checking the well pump's water pressure at my place. Possibly this could also be used temporarily?
I am nearly positive it is alright since pretty much ALL mechanical pressure gauges just simply use a coiled copper tube hooked to the needle to show pressure. The copper tube just straitens out as the pressure inside of it raises.
Yeah I see no reason an electric oil pressure guage couldn't be used, I would not use mechanical as that would put fuel in the cab. For a nice set of guages I would just pony up for the fuel pressure guage, I have a three guage pillar mount maybe I should get a quad guage.
so the first filter didn't last long, about 6 miles and 1/4 mile down a bumpy road and fuel pressure went from 70 to 55 at idle. I cut it open it was pretty nasty but not terrible. crud dumped out of it when I turned it upside down. I don't know why its so bad if someone dumped dirt in it or if it just normally settles to the bottom and does not cause a problem. I guess then I went and stirred up 200k miles worth of dirt in the bottom

That scan guage is actually a great deal for all it does I am interested to see your pressure drop under load since we are running similar filters. My truck is stock with a chip yours is hotroded a little more but closer to my truck than Tugly
6 miles! Holy cow...mine has gone from 63 to 58 at idle over last three weeks. Looking for a 30 micron that will fit this filter head in Strictly Diesel's kit.
Hey Tug---Back to the filter restriction spin on discussion from earlier in this thread.
Based off what I think u said, could you not plumb a gauge that reads vacuum as well as psi to see what restriction the particular filter set up in question (whatever brand) is causing? We used to do that a lot with Case track hoes because of a ball that would get loose in the tank and cause issues. I think a gauge that read 30in HG - to 30 psi is just a few dollars at the hyd store.

Please post what you find. I haven't had any pressure fluctuations or changes with the Baldwin 1212 since installing the full fuel system but would like to run a readily available 30 micron at the next filter change.
Travis, my pressure drops like Rich's at WOT. All the way down to 39psi. Idle psi has been slowly creeping down. My tank was clean except for the pickup foot pieces everywhere. Maybe one or some of the little tiny pieces got together and clogged something.
