Scored a chrome grill at the swapmeet Saturday. Two guys had a bunch of 56 stuff. Two and a half cabs (the half had a real nice roof). Got the grill for $110. The chrome is pretty good with a small dent on the underneath left front I think can be worked out. The back is rusty so I'll knock that down and paint before install. Will know more once I get it polished up. Also picked up a cowel vent leaver I was needing. It was cold and muddy so only about 1/2 the vendors and not a very big crowd. We actually had a little snow Friday; very strange for eastern Kansas in May.

What swapmeet did you score those items at...the one on on 63rd street? I live in Kansas City and intend on starting to go to some swap meets in search of needed parts for my 1955 F100 but have not made any yet. Saturday I was out of town or I might have actually gone to the one at the 63rd street drive in. Having purchased my 1955 last summer I am looking for local sources for parts and or others who have an interest in these trucks to swap stories with and network with.
Sounds like a score!
I went to "the largest swap meet in the St Louis area" at Gateway Speedway in East St Louis. they had almost 1000 vendors but they only had two or three with Midfifties stuff. Mainly radiators.
We missed the snow but it rained all day.
Sure would have liked to be where I could have found a 56 drivers door.
It was the Lawrence swap meet, same weekend every year at the Douglas County fairgrounds. Never been to the 63rd St meet, will have to check that out.
Did not see any doors, the cabs all needed the floors replaced or at least patched so chances are the doors are not too far behind or they already sold them. I got the guys card so might give him a call. They both live up by Riley so only a couple hours away. Plus, I have a buddy that lives near by I go out to see once in a while.
