Hey everyone I am new to the forum so I hope I don't waste your time.I just purchased my first 6.0 superduty. The truck is a 2006.My issue is the motor in this truck was just put in by a very bad wholesale car dealership that was forced to by court order. They did a horrible job and left many things incorrectly installed and missing.I did not know the back story when I purchased the truck. My problem now is the two metal coolant lines that go in the bottom of the radiator are missing the plastic clips that hold them in.I called the ford dealer and they said you have to buy the entire radiator to get them.I couldn't believe it.I called around everywhere and get the same answerlease tell me there is another solution for this problem.I cant believe I have to buy a new radiator for a couple of fifty cent clips and to make it worse the transmission line is missing one also.Any help or ideas would be great.
Welcome to FTE.
Ford does this with some parts. The lines your talking about are for the transmission cooler.
I think that there is a fix but not sure what it is. So this will bump your post back to the top.
your truck has the lines to connect into the Radiator, take it back now and have them replace the Radiator, the trans cooler is very important on the health of trans .you still have a warrentee as is you know. take that truck back NOW.wrong Radiator.
Bud ,ALSO I would look into the chapters section in your area and find or unless you know how to do a full coolent flush, you dont want the lot sales to do this , Radiators are easy to do , but you have to make sure you unplug the block plugs , pull the Thermostate and flush well. in the tech folders is a great place and with a chem flush just read well and make sure water (not well ) is used with the flush , remember add distilled water and 50/50 mix ford gold coolent ,take the degus bottle off and rinse the hell out of it you will see all sorts of crap come out rince till no signs of debre.
are you talking about the big white plastic clips?
making and bending some tube to make new lines is not that hard to do, just need the correct flair tool
Thanks everyone sorry for the late response.Unfortunately I purchased the truck from a private party who just went through all these problems with the dealer. No warranty for me.I am left holding the bag.Yes the clips I am Talking about are the big white ones. Can you get them separate or is there another way to keep the lines in?I am pulling my hair out here.I went yesterday to b&a diesel.I believe he goes by the name the diesel wizard. We looked through all his old parts and had no luck.
there not holding the lines in, there just safty to stop the lines from blowing out if therenot all the way in. they really do nothing at all and often get left off anyway. the lins are held in by internal safty clips. they are also not sold with a radiator.
Cheezit thank you very much. That makes me feel alot better. You guys are great on here.Hey if you know anyone selling 37" tires on 17" rims let me know. Thanks again everyone.
