cps recall replacement READ

Say. I'm sure everyone has already had this done. But I last I had truck at the stealership in 08. They replaced turbo intake hoses. I was stupid. Anyway they told me about the cps recall and I told them i had alrwady replaced it. They said bring in receipt and I would b reimbursed. So 5 years later my cps goes bad again. And remembering I never used the recall I figured cash in. Only apparently they claim they replaced it in 08. I was getting mad and explained. They told me the service writer should have eplained its a safety recall and they have to do it. So I am mad. I don't think they should be able to replace anything without at least some kind of consent or forwarning. Iknow it seems petty. But I paid for my truck and it belongs to me.

if your not having any problems with yours, i would ask for it back when they make the swap to put in the glove box for a spare.

ditto ask for the old one back. Do not leave your truck alone with the 'tech'. . Sit in the truck while they are working on it. If they say 'no customers allowed in the back'.... say good by and leave... the CPS is not worth the chance of they 'reprogramming' truck.

Now you know to never leave your truck ALONE with a sDealer. They will 'look' for all 'recalls' and do them weather you want it or not..... also they could 'update' your program and destroy or harm any Chip or Tuner that you may have. I sat in my truck while it was getting worked on and when the 'manager' left, i got out and talked to and watched what the tech was doing the whole time I was there. The 'recalls' are easy money for the sDealers and they will 'look' for other things to 'fix' while you have your truck there.

That's why I get a letter every year about the vital 'cruise control recall'...the dealer told me it would take them 2-3 hours (it's a 5 min. job) and I didn't want to see what else they might be doing during the rest of this time.

The tech can walk out to your truck and do this.
1) Make appointment....(1:30 Tuesday) tell guy on phone you will have it there at 1:30 and will remain in/with truck.

2) Gives you any crap, tell him that is the way it is and if it is not, then no appointment.

Go to ford owner.com. Check under the service tab, type your VIN# in and it will tell you if any recalls are pending. Like this.
