Hey all:
Just an FYI, I got a recall notice in the mail from Ford recalling my 02 F-250 for the CPS. It stated the problems with the CPS in which I learned here on FTE years back, and that I need to bring it in for replacement. It also said that if you have already fixed the problem to bring it in for the new CPS so that it won't happen again. Also take your original receipt for the repair and Ford will reimburse you for it. I believe the reimbursement is only if Ford did the work but it is worth the try.
A friend of mine has a 01' F-350 psd and he had the cps replaced about a year and 1/2 ago by a diesel shop. He took the truck to the local ford dealer for the recall call and gave them the reciept for the repare and they told him he will be getting a chech in the mail to reimburse him for the cost of labor and parts even though it was not a dealership that did the work.
If you have a reciept for the part and did the work yourself or hired someone to do it, The dealer will inspect and test the CPS installed and if it checks out as normal and is the new style, Ford will reimburse you for the part cost.
