The culprit was a bent pinion !
Its is now fixed and the Ex is back in action
The pinion gear was actually bent?.............never heard of that.

Well glad it's fixed but man that had to take some serious force to bend it - lucky it wasn't worse for the occupants of the vehicle at the time.
Was on a street, accelerated away from a stoplight, when the axle tried to wrap it bent the u-bolts, the blocks fell out, back end of the truck collapsed, drive shaft sheared off at its junction with the rear differential

I remember your thread on that, Brent's too old and his memory must be shot....haha . Guess if anythings going to bent the pinion what you had happen would do it.
