I blew a plug

The subject line says it all. My 2001 F150 4.6 threw the #3 plug on the passenger side while going down the road at 65 mph. It threaded back in and tightened up to make it the last 7 miles home. I have read that Time serts are the best option but I need this truck daily at work. Has anyone tried using the Heli Coil system as a temporary fix? I am going to order the Time Set kit but since I need the truck now, I was wondering if it were possible to pick up a Heli Coil and insert it until my Time Sert kit arrives?
Thanks in advance.

My apologies. I must have been misinformed I thought since the Heli Coils didn't use a stop or any type of thread lock compound that they were removable.

Found this when doing a Google search. I've done the same "unwinding" method on heli coils which were used on turbines in power stations.

Helicoils are actually very easy to remove.. No drilling and fussing needed.
There is pointy tool, like a triangle on the end of a screwdriver, you poke it into the hole, and turn it out backwards. it will unwind the top coil, and holding pressure down on it, the coil winds up tighter, and comes out of the hole.
Of course, once you get the first coil loose, you can grab it with a pair of pliers, and pull the coil out of the center of the hole, maybe a little "unwinding" motion to peel it right out..

Don't know how to describe the tool, made by Helicoil, strangley enough. Just a sharp pointy spade bit you jam into the coil, and unwind it..
Real easy, and am I ever glad I found out how to do it!

Thanks for all the replies. I have continued researching the subject and have noticed several pricing differences in the Time Sert kits. The Ford labeled kit is $400 but I can buy a M14x 1.25 spark plug kit without inserts anywhere between $135- $160. The inserts are $53 for a pack of 5 which puts me around $210 total. Does anyone know the difference? Is the price higher because one kit is labeled for Ford?

The M14 kit without inserts 4412 - Kits - Spark Plugs - Time-Sert

The Ford specialty kit 5553 - Ford - Manufacturer Kits - Time-Sert

Any insight would be appreciated
