So I took my 2011 FX4 Superduty to get hand washed today......The people once thay were completed with the handwash they could not get my truck started. I called my service advisor and he stated that with the truck being almost 3 years old and having a little over 110,000 miles ......the problem maybe with the batteries. I did all I could to get the truck started at the carwash but had to have Ford's roadside service get the truck to the dealership. The information display flashed " Starting System Fault" so if anyone have any answers.......please let me know. BTW I have a 125,000 mile Ford bump to bumper warranty.....This only the 2nd time my truck has left me stranded....I'am just thankful it happened close to home...
So this morning.....I took my spare key to the dealership ....I was thinking that with "starting system fault" it just might be the key had gone BAD......Well I lucked out once at the dealership I located my truck put the spare key in .....and it started right up. I talked with the service advisor to let him know what had happened....I stated that if they could go over the truck to make sure everything is O.K.....and to provided me another key .......Keep in mind this all will cost me.....So later this afternoon I will pick up my work truck......total cost for this breakdown....just under 500.00 dollars......rental truck to work out of for one day / fuel for rental truck / wash job for rental truck and dealership cost was 271.00 dollars......This all could have been worse if I broke down at home....
