longer cranking

i have noticed that it takes a little longer cranking before my truck will start. watching the scangauge its slower for the icp to climb. but once it hits the 600 psi then it starts and runs fine and also while running the icp responds nice and quick to throttle changes. im guessing i have a mild high pressure oil leak. my question is where should i be looking for one. i hear things like dummy plugs and stand pipes and such and im not sure what and where they are and sont know how to know is they need replacing.

a little background..
running all motorcraft filters
running rotella T6 oil
change oil no more than 5k miles
blue dot on fuel cover so i should have the blue spring
i have had my FICM redone by Ed last year and still holding
only smoke is a very little bit of white every now and then on takeoff
also i am at 216000 miles.
no codes

anyone have any pointers or questions.
thanks

Has the STC fitting ever been replaced on the HPOP? Standpipes and dummy plugs are under the valve covers and are part of the HPO oil rails that feed the injectors. Search for air test on how to diagnose a HPO leak.

Some have found that the blue dot is not a reliable way to know if you have a blue spring installed.
Pressure test is the only reliable way to tell.

I got the truck with 150k on it about 2.5 years ago. I don't know of any updates that have been done or how to know if any have been installed. The report I got from ford oasis only showed a bed plate gasket and door adjustment done under warranty. So there is a lot of time that is unknown between the end of warranty and the time I got the truck.

I had bought a blue spring kit before and when I went to install I saw the dot and did not take anything apart thinking the dot ment it was already installed. Being as I have one should I install anyway. Already paid for.

Thanks for the reply guys.

Could be one way or the other.
You need to do some gauge watching and some testing.
I am thinking that an air test is called for.

It does do it both cold and hot. I stopped for fuel half way of a 250 mile trip yesterday and when I went to restart after fueling it seamed a little worse. It took 2 try's for it to start. I know by watching the icp it is slow to rise. I will get some values when I get back today.

How Long ago???

Been awhile hasnt it???

Guess what Im getting at is the wrong Cap/Filter will let Garbage into the HPO system and Kill IPR

I would pull filter and crank to see how fast oil filter housing fils up

If fills fast then move to HPO System

Have you ever changed the STC standpipe or dummey plgs??
