EGTs get too high with stock system want to get new system ideas and any opinions on either a cat delete or muffler delete or both untill I can get whole new system
Where are you measuring pyro and what temps with what type of gauge? Stock system with muffler and cat delete pipes will likely decrease your temps a bit. Only way to truly do this is the bigger down pipe, EGR delete kit, bigger full exhaust. Do you have to pass emission testing or data port probe?
Have egt delete with new up pipe cooler is totally removed.put edge evolution with dash pod gauges and probe put probe in manifold where it showed. I hit 8-900 constantly and when I put it in tow tune it hits the 1350 quick and sets alarm off so I have to let up. And as of yet no need for emission test on 3/4 ton diesel where I'm at
Full exhaust upgrade to 3.5 inch down pipe and 4 inch exhaust. Preferably with cat delete and a flow through muffler. Set your edge evolution to refuel at pyro of 1350. Am assuming by your description your pyro is in the drivers side exhaust manifold pre turbo, and 1350 is the right temp.
For comparison, my stock truck rarely touches on the 1350 even towing hills at full boost 60 mph plus. I think your edge may be tuned a bit aggressive but I don't have experience with tuners. What I have seen on these boards is SCT are preferred. Do you have head studs? What boost does she run at at these pyro temps? Just curious.
I have a feeling it's related to the Edge tuner mostly. I've heard similar complaints from a lot of Edge users. Using the SCT Tuner on Performance and doing a straight 1/4 mile WOT pull the highest I got mine to was 1400.
The edge instructions showed drilling at last bend back of passenger side manifold was the spot for the pyro?? I hit 1350 on economy setting I'm not looking to drag race just pull a 20 foot camper loaded up . Got the evolution by edge for gauges tune and probe mostly.
I bought the all stainless diamondeye 4" turbo back kit for $350 and overall a nice setup. I added a nice stainless 4 to 6 tip and love the end results!

Perfect setup IMO. I can buy two complete setups like this before it costs me what the stainless version does.
