Question Where are the electrical wizards?

Is anybody out there ready for a challange? I need somebody to help me with a dilima!

I removed the airbag from my 1995 F-150 in order to install a peice of audio equipment. The audio equipment has a six wire plug. I would like to use the clock spring in the steering wheel to operate the unit, but the clock spring only supports four wires.

What to do?

Can I replace it with another from a different Ford or will I have to modify it?

Please help!!!!!!

I am not sure on this but you might goto a junk yard and try a clock spring out of a Lincoln or Mercury. Look for a higher end model that might have more of the controls on the steering wheel. Like I said, not sure on this but it's a suggestion.

Where do the 6 wires hook up to? More than one might be a ground in which case you can combine them into one wire.

You can probably use the steering column as a ground - either the shaft or the aluminum frame. That'll give you 5 conductors.

Yeah, I thought about the ground already. That is why I needed either 6 or 8 wires. Two are grounds, so I need six for the other wires.
