Some new problems... Brakes!
Well guys, I finally got my 93 out to CO from CA, and She is a dream to drive compared to the lifted 94 with 1 ton suspension. She will be my DD for the time being. One problem, like a dumb a$$ I drove her the other day with the parking brake on for like IDK a hundred miles!!! is that bad? Seriously, The 94 parking brake works well, so I can't drive off and leave it on, the 93... not so much! So like an idiot I drove about 90 miles with the parking brake on slightly! Obviously it cooked it enough to damage it, because now when I brake even moderately hard, the drivers side back wheel locks up with anything more than moderate braking. I haven't searched or investigated the problem yet, but does anyone here know what I should start to look at? The rest of the braking system seems fine, and if I stomp on the pedal, I stop well (with the exception of the rear left tire in full lock up!) What should I look at first?
Thanks guys,
Mac.

Heat cracking in pads and drums, followed by hardware intact and wheel cylinder operation (personally Id bleed the brakes but that's just on general principles). Sounds like somethings hanging up on one side or the other. (For the record all you basically did was get the rear brakes VERY hot and lotsa wear on the pads)
Although you should see some of the heat cracks I get out of the race cars rotors...and it goes through multiple sets of front calipers per year :/

Yep also got a pressure bleeder although I havnt tried it on the truck yet just the cars.
If you care Ill be out at the race track this weekend, your welcome to swing by and we can give it a good look over
(Id say my place but generally by the time I get around to working on anything its dark...and the driveways a little crowded)

its usually easy enough to bleed them alone, just put a hose over the bleeder nipple into a bottle, open the bleeder screw a little, and sit there watching it move air down the line. once the line is sumberged in fluid and contains no air, you're free to play with the pedal if you like.
but in general, you cooked them and wore them down till they're loose as can be. and if they were already too loose to hold at all, you may not have cooked them too bad, but still need to get into them.
at a minimum, you need to clean, inspect, and adjust them. and in the process you'll become aware of any other needs they may have.

Yeah, mostly heat damage. You may have warped a drum. I'd change the shoes, get everything adjusted well, then slowly stop with the park break & see if it pulsates. If so, then turn/replace the drums.
The little bleeding kits with the check valve work pretty well for one-man bleeding...

I was just ribbing Kc0stp about the brake bleeding part, I have a vacuum pump for brake bleeding. It makes it pretty easy. The warped drum thing is a good possibility. I'll pull her apart this weekend and have a look.
Thanks guys,
Mac.

It sounds like your cable is stuck on the side that's locking up. Your drum could also be warped from the heat. That will cause it to lock. Thinking about it I don't think a partially stuck on cable would make it lock, just drag.

once you check out and repair the brakes Mac,inspect the switch on the e-brake and light in the dash.
when the emergency brake is set, even just lightly, the brake light should come on.
fix this too and you will avoid this from happening again.
