Ok, I have done some reading here and from what I can tell I dont think that it is the cam phasers or cylinod. This only ticks when you give it gas. Sounds fine at idle, going down hill, anytime Im not on the gas. Any ideas?
Injectors mabey? Thanks!

Reason: forgot motor size

I chased this and it was the front hub actuators....they are engaged by a lack of vacuum. Try putting it in 4wd when going up a hill when you hear the noise. If it goes away, there is the issue.
Check the IWE hub thread for all the details if that seems to be the problem.
Still does it in 4 wheel drive. With the hood open at an idle, I can not hear anything. Going down the road, when you give it gas, the ticking sounds like it is coming from the passeger side of the motor
You can hear mine at idle when cold but not hot. Only under load when hot. I figure it to be a very slight warping that when it heats up slightly unwarps it...for lack of a better word.
