02 will not crank

After short trip, 02 f-150 v-6 will not crank every time but engine turns over. When it does crank, it runs fine the entire trip. 189,000 miles on motor and is a 4x2 extended cab.

Cranking means it turns over with the key in start position.
Check the Crank sensor plug for being seated by pulling it off and reseating it back on.
If you have Theft system, try another key and observe the Theft lamp action.
