I have a 1977 f150 4x4 that has a fmx transmission and i was thinking of swapping it to a c6 , can i use the adaptor for my transfer case from the fmx to the c6 ? or is it going to be a pain in the butt ..
well i have looked to see what transfer case i have , but i know for sure its not a c4 or a c6 transmission , i looked at some pictures of the pan and it looks more like a C3
C3 not installed in any truck or used with any V8 engine. 1974/78 Mustang II 2.3L I-4; 1974/80 Pinto/Bobcat 2.3L I-4 & 2.8L V6; 1978/83 Fairmont/Zephyr 2.3L; has 13 trans pan bolt holes.
What engine do you have? A FMX is definetely a transplant if that is what you have. If you do a C6 swap, just look for one that has the adapter already on it, and be done with it. Better yet, find a donor truck and rob the mounts and all and just put it together with factory stuff.
well i am the 2nd owner of the truck , the old man i bought i from ordered it from ford but by the look of the pan its a c3 , the only reason i am thinking of changing it the 351m that i had turned into a 400 is gutless i have a 460 with a tci superstreetfighter c6 i am wanting to put in it
