Question Stock Manifold vs Headers HELP!

1965 F100 352 Custom Cab.
I've been all over here trying to find the right answer but haven't landed on it yet so thought I would ask.
I'm just about done re-building the engine and converted from 2 barrel to 4 barrel. The current manifolds are shot.
I have found the Dormans for about $120 each or a china brand for $100 for the pair. But I have been leaning towards going with headers and dual exhaust.
I am keeping the truck MOSTLY OEM. So the engine compartment will remain the same. I've read about interfernce on the cross member and heat issues with the starter from headers. But I've also heard people have found some that have worked. (Wasn't specific what they where though )
So.... Can anyone tell me the answer to these 2 questions?

1. Stay with Stock or go with the headers?
2. What headers will work without modifications in the engine compartment?

Thanks in advance & Thanks to all on here for some great info. I have learned.

I talked to Sanderson Headers today. They gave me the part # FF427.
$345.00 plain steel
$515.00 Ceramic coated.
Now I have to decide between want and $$$$
Not an easy choice when you know you have more work ahead of you on the truck.

Have Flowtech longtubes on 65 w/ 390 and 3sp. od, with no problem; sorry don't know the item #. This truck does not have p/s, not sure if an issue with the shorty, but does have front disc brake upgrade and there's no problem. Perhaps member familiar with the shorty can advise, advantage would seem not having to lift engine slightly to get the passenger side header around the starter???

Have Hooker longtubes on 65 w/ 302 with P/S, and front disc with T18 4/sp. and did have to take the 4" grinding wheel to the passenger side crossmember and remove minimal amount of material, wanted to increase clearance where the header flange connects at the exhaust.
