Yes it is a long box.....I can see the fender indent being different, but not sure why the bracket would be different. Anyone else have any info? Number Dummy where are you?

I think the brackets are different as they have a different bolt pattern 5 lug or 8 lug

It only has three bolts. Are you saying they are just the wrong pattern? The bracket itself should fit both the short and long bed, don't you think?

The '56 box was from a 1/2 ton long box truck w/5 lug wheels, so it should be the same. I can hang a wheel on it to check.
