Hey guys, I think my power steering pump is starting to go out, as it will sometimes make that whining/buzzing sound that you can hear/feel a bit in the steering wheel. But it only does this when I turn the steering wheel to the left and its not constant, it is intermittent when it does it, that is to say as I start turning left it will whine/buzz then stop and then whine/ buzz again. It wont do it until it heats up and it doesn't do it every time I turn left but it does it every time I drive it. Applying the brakes makes no difference either. I have done the power steering flush and it made no difference. Is there anything else in this power steering/hydroboost system that can cause this other than a failing pump?
At the shop we have a specific cleaner for PS systems. Valvoline has one, Phyzix, Gunk has one. You can use the gunk trans flush stuff too if no one has the PS specific stuff.
