Thanks! Hopefully this will help some people before they do this job.
I used the original timing cover even though it was damaged a little on the outside.I cleaned it very well and made sure that there where no damaged parts on the water or oil side that might leak. As soon as I have my intake pipe and radiator in, I am going to start it up! Hopefully I wont have any leaks!

Just wanted to say thanks for your pic's. You helped me figure out what bolts in the pile o bolts that came off my truck to use when for both the timing cover and water pump.

hopefully, I'll get mine back together soon so I can see how many leaks I do or don't have anymore. ;-)

I must have been really lucky with mine. I just pulled all of this off earlier this week.
I took my time cleaning the timing cover and what not. The bolts were a little rusty, but I didn't break any. I cleaned up the bolts on my bench grinder's wire brush before re-installing the cover. I probably should have used some anti-seize on the bolts, but I didn't have any.
Did your oil pan gasket have a metal frame inside it? Mine did, and I didn't cut it off under the timing cover like the gasket instructions said to. I cleaned it as best as I could with shop rags, put a little red RTV underneath the oil pan gasket and on the ends under the crank snout. I did use the new half circle gasket under the crank snout with more RTV.
I pulled the intake manifold off also, since mine was leaking coolant in the front and rear passages. The lower manifold bolts were finger tight in places, so that's probably why they were leaking. I'm probably going to have some difficulty getting the distributor lined up properly since I've spun the engine since pulling it out.
