302 timing cover bolts
went to change the timing set in a 302 today and three timing cover bolts snapped. anyone have any suggestions on the best way to try to get these out. they broke off even with the cover so theres still about two inches sticking out of the block. gonna try heating them tomorrow and using a pipe wrench to turn them with. any suggestions welcomed.
thanks in advance,
scott

does you have access to a welder? if so, put a washer on the broken bolt and weld it to the bolt tightly on the block then weld a nut to the washer on try to remove it....see if that work's....worked for me once or twice!
P.S. the heat from the weld should be enough to help you out!

Yell?
Did it work?
I'm in a similar situation.
Mine has problems with the water pump bolts.
Two broke off at the timing chain cover and one I still can not budge even with a 2.5 foot long breaker bar and lots of liquid wrench.
I'll let you know when I figure out a way to get them out.
