Yep, my and I are going Saturday morning. Mostly Chevy stuff but every once in a while you find something. Better chance of finding a part for your truck there than sitting on your couch. It a swap meet, better than working and if nothing else you get exercise.

I'll buy you a Tiger bar.

I will be shopping for lumber with FP for the new bed of his truck Saturday morning. Then we are going back to my shop to cut and shape it all.is the summer swap meet in Elkhorn a good one that you go to or do you like Iola?

I went to Elkhorn a couple of times, don't really remember what it was like but my neighbor and his buddy go every year to sell. He thinks it's a better seller swap meet than Jeffereson. He figures he gets more rubes from Illinios to buy his junk. Iola is huge and has more parts for the harder to find cars and trucks. Still has the normal Chevy stuff but also more variety. If you go to Iola plan on two days and bring bottles of frozen water. The first half you can find good drinking water but once you get to the back field the water isn't so good.

Stu, truckdog, goes every year to Iola. I think you guys should shop for wood tonight and meet up with me at Jefferson tomorrow. You can shape it Sunday.

One more thing, there are no parts at Jefferson for '48-52 Ford truck, none at all, don't bother coming if you're looking for '48-52 part, you'll go home empty handed. If you're looking for anything newer you might get lucky. We always enjoy Flatlander money so bring a lot of it.

Also, the weather is suppose to be nice tomorrow. Spring Jefferson can become a real mud pit. Suppose to be dry and sunny all weekend.

The weather was great, can't remember ever having this nice of weather for spring Jefferson. Didn't find anything truck related. I did buy a couple of tools, nothing major. Still any time at a swap meet is better than work.

I've been going to Jefferson for about 10 years, this was the first year that I was looking for F1 parts, I guess over the past 10 years I wasn't paying that much attention. I did not see a single F1 part, in fact I don't think I saw more than a single rear fender for the 53-56 series either. I like Jefferson because you can find good deals on tools, but boy not a good day for F1 parts. Looking forward to Iola, I think they always have a better selection of car parts, and less 'junk'.

If you didn't find any F1 parts you weren't looking hard enough. I saw a guy that had almost a complet 48F1 on a trailer. He pulled in on Friday and I know that the front clip was there, and hood. I think the cab was in there also. It was back in a corner in the White field.
Then on Sat morning I snagged a t-5 tranny from and S-10 that included the bellhousing adapter to the Flathead V-8.
There was one tailgate for the 53-56 on a corner lot, and a few other parts around if you dig deep. Also a guy had a 47 in pieces against the fence in the green lot?
He actually had a couple trucks that he parted out.
Its there if you have the time to look, but Sat was BUSY. I have more luck on Friday and EARLY Sat morning.

I saw a guy in the NW corner of the white field with a F-2 to F-6 front clip in the front of flatbed and a complete front axle from a F-2-3. That might have been the same guy. I didn't need any of those parts.

BTW, welcome to board. Are located in WI? Where?

I am just across the river from LaX in Mn. We go to Jefferson every year. Usually vend parts, but this year it was a last minute decision to go, so we came out for Friday and Sat morning. Family commitments the rest of the weekend. Could not believe the weather. FINALLY worth it. I remember standing in 3" of water one year, and getting almost blown off the lot one year. BUT I still sold a lot of my extra stuff!!
This year I only spent my not so extra $$

It was an amazing weather, not a puddle to try to walk around. There is always 10'x10' puddles. I can never remember it being so dry. It was perfect swap meet weather.

It was my first time going this year and boy was I not prepared! My buddy and I started on the south end and we went up and down the rows until we hit the barns, we were about to one side when we saw that this place just keeps going!!!!! Man was that a long walk. But I was disappointed in the lack of f100 parts for my 55, which was the only reason we went. There was a guy on the sw corner that had a bunch of hoods, running boards, inner fenders, few other pieces that were in good shape but of course those were the pieces I didn't need.

When is this Iola one? From experience there are more f100 parts for my 55?

If you think Jefferson was a little overwhelming you better prepare yourself for Iola. It's at least twice as big. No way you can make it through Iola in one day and really see everything. I've done it in one day but I only had one day and had to move quickly. Iola usually has a wider variety of parts for more types of vehicle.

The show is July 11-14 , Iola Old Car Show

One thing I learned with Iola, freeze a half dozen bottles of water and put them in a back pack or cart. The southern part has some good sources of water but once you get to the northern half the water gets scarce and what there is tastes like crap, IMO. You will go through a lot of water.

I haven't gone to Iola in a couple of years, the last time I went back Sunday morning and about a 1/3 of the vendors were gone early. Friday and Saturday are the best days.
