front axle

front axle

Just wondering if its normal that my front axle sits out about 1 1/2 inches further on the drivers side than the passenger, also anyone else have a problem with the gas pump always shutting off when filling up...thanks, Rob

Just to confirm, what year and 2wd or 4wd? (I'd guess '05 4wd, but assuming is usually a bad idea) Do you have some type of lift on the truck? Is it tracking normally and acting normally even with the axle shifted over?

Something like a 4"+ lift on an 05+ without trac bar correction could conceivably end up with the axle severely shifted to the driver's side.

It's an 05 4x....has a 2 1/2 leveling kit, that's it...it tracks like it should, I don't any left or right pull, just thought it was weird being wider on one side...

It's not wider, it's out of center because the axle falls on a radius. The three solid mounting points between the axle and frame are where the track bar and two radius arms bolt up so everything moves in relation to those points; as the suspension extends the axle moves rearward and to driver's side. I was just just under an inch out of center with a 2" kit and didn't mess with it. If it bugs you, your choices are to find a trac bar drop bracket for your height of kit, or an adjustable trac bar bracket.

SLOW FUEL FILL
Publication Date: September 18, 2006

FORD:
2005-2007 F-250, F-350
ISSUE:

Some 2005-2007 F-Super Duty 250/350 vehicles may experience premature automatic shut off of the fuel fill nozzle, or repeated fuel shut off at the fuel station delivery nozzle. Vehicles operated in muddy or dusty environments can encounter a dirt-clogged carbon canister system. More specifically, the carbon canister's vent, fresh-air box, and filters, clogged with dirt from operating in such environments.

ACTION:

Use the following Service Procedure to resolve the concern if the carbon canister system is dirt clogged.

NOTE: THIS TSB ONLY APPLIES TO F-250/350 PICKUPS, AND F-250/350 PICKUP BOX DELETE / CHASSIS CAB VEHICLES.
SERVICE PROCEDURE

Inspect the vehicle carbon canister system and if it is found to be dirt clogged then continue with this TSB.

NOTE: IF THE VEHICLES CARBON CANISTER SYSTEM IS NOT DIRT CLOGGED, THEN PROCEED WITH NORMAL DIAGNOSTICS AND DO NOT CONTINUE WITH THIS TSB.
Vehicles with Pick Up Boxes:

If the vehicle was built on or after 9/14/2006, proceed to Step 2. If the vehicle was built prior to 9/14/2006, replace the carbon canister assembly. This carbon canister has a revised internal filter media.
Relocate the fresh-air intake port to a more protected location using the Fresh Air Hose Kit, for pick up applications only.
Vehicles with Pick Up Box Removed or Chassis Cab:

If the vehicle was built on or after 9/14/2006, proceed to Step 2. If the vehicle was built prior to 9/14/2006, replace the carbon canister assembly. This carbon canister has a revised internal filter media.

Relocate the fresh-air intake port to a more protected location using QVM bulletin Q-132 at the body builder's website - https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/index.htm for fresh air intake routing recommendations.

Get an adjustable track bar. If you lift it up its gonna move over. Its not right and may wear parts early.
Oh! many trucks are off a little.. Check another like yours first..

thanks for the info guys, ill leave the front alone, the fuel thing should be under my warranty, so ill check into getting it fixed
