1990 Bronco?

Hi all I am usually on the Excursion forums since thats what have right now. I am looking to get a Bronco for my 13 year old son and I to work on and turn into a trail rig for us along with taking wife and daughter sometimes. My question is what do you all think of this 90 I found on craigslist it needs a transmission but if it really has what owner states I think it might be worth it. Just want some opinions since it is more than I can spend right now but is do able. Here is a link http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hn...719324539.html and price is $1000 with 35" tires or $800 with out just need to go and look at it say not rusted to bad. Thanks for opinions and suggestions.

I recommend you hop on I-35 and run down to Texas and pick this one up - it will be rust free:

Heres a few I found that are near your area. They all have rust issues though. If you want a rust free one then you may have to do what jas88 said and go south. But if the engine is still strong and your willing to put a new tranny in it then go for it.

The Bronco in this link is already lifted and on 33"s this guy is even throwing in a bunch of extras.

Probably not too bad. I see a good amount of broncos for sale in my area that have good everything but maybe I dinged up body for around $1000. The body doesn't really matter much if its a trail vehicle. You're probably going to bang it up a little anyhow.

Depending on what you want to do with it, a 300 I6 might be better for crawling slowly than a 302 or 351. It makes torque at lower RPMs. Or you could turn it into a 460 bronco, haha

How high are you looking to lift it?

To start with leave it where its at if I go with the 1 I'm thinking about. It must have some what of a lift if it has 35". I know it will get dings and custom pin striping for tree branches . I think I'll check out those others links. Kind of on a tight budget which doesn't help me much. Also need to convince wife we need it. I guess its easy to ask for forgiveness than permission .
