Keep It or Sell It?

Hey guys. I recently bought a slide-in camper and truck combo. I wanted the camper, but not the truck, so I figured Id sell the truck and use my ol IDI to haul the camper with.

The trucks fairly nice. F-350 CCLB Dually 2wd limited slip diff (4 tire fire!) with the Eclipse package. Leather seats so plush you could sleep in them! It does however need TLC. Front seats tore, water pump leaks, front fuel tank leaks, and fuel line leaks around the fuel filter. Its fairly easy stuff to fix, but I know if I do and drive it, I might like it too much lol.

My current "other truck" is a 92 F-250 RCLB 460 w/ a recently swapped in manual trans. I put my fair share of work into that darn tranny swap. No doubt its reliable. Its also in pretty good shape, especially the interior. But it also gets 11 mpgs on a good day. Its 4wd with autolocking hubs, which means its 2wd 100% of the time. Its also an open diff which means 1 wheel drive 100% of the time

I will more than likely get an OBS F-350 4x4 parts truck. This means one of my trucks is getting a D60 front axle and LS rear. For the dually, itd be a LOT of work front end wise. Itd swap into my other 2 trucks.

My question is this: sell the dually and recoup most of my money spent on the camper or sell the 460 and recoup some of my money spent on the camper?

Taught call.

Really depends on what you need that extra truck for. One is 2wd, other is 4x4.

Do you "really" need a 4x4 or not....would be my personal question to decide witch truck stays.

Is there no way to keep both? Lol

I'd keep the dually since your IDI (which I assume is your DD) is 4x4 for when you need a 4x4 truck. I've always thought dually OBS trucks are cool. I also understand if you like your 460 though (love mine!).

Man you could always sleep in the F350 front seats if the wife kicks you out. LOL. I'm confused I guess. Is there 3 trucks here. The one you bought with the camper, two your 92 4x4, three your IDI?
I would have to have more input on each truck to give input or a better opinion as to what I would do in your case.

Sorry I kinda rambled lol.

1989 F-250 IDI 4x4 - My DD
1992 F-250 460 4x4 - The Backup
1996 F-350 PSD 2wd - The new truck

Now my gpa thinks I need to keep the PSD and sell the IDI! Ehh though decision. I REALLY like my IDI and its the only true 4x4 I have lol

I say keep all 3! or mix and match trucks to get some extreme truck that fits all your needs. Like a 4x4 dually that will roast the tires, pull anything and beat everyone to the top of the hill!

Only problem is I doubt anyone will buy any of em lol.

The 460 had a manual swapped into it AND its a 460. Big turn off

The PSD is a 2wd and needs work

The IDI is rough on the outside lol

The swap is almost complete. All I need is the clutch/brake pedal assembly... Theyre hard to come by used and when someone has one, they think theyre worth their weight in gold lol.

I honestly love all 3 of them. The PSD is crazy comfy, the IDI gets pretty good mileage and super reliable, and the 460 is just fun to drive. I just cant afford to keep all 3 of em...

For Sale to BigBlockF350:

1992 F-250 4x4 RCLB 460 ZF5 The swap is finished minus the pedals. Has a brand new heavy duty clutch and pressure plate and fresh turned flywheel. Has true duals with glasspacks and semi stacks cut down as the tips. Its a BEAST

I'd buy it if I could afford it, lol! One 460 is probably enough though, need to get a second truck with better MPG, haha
