So guys,I guess if I come across a flywheel and clutch like that I should grab it.Are they that hard to find?I am just thinking ahead for a future c69a build I have been planning on sticking a merc crank into.Is that the same parts car/truck?

I had picked up 4 flatheads 2 were mercs I think they all had truck transmissions on them. At least one had a 53 truck bellhousing so im pretty sure those pressure plates will fit in a truck bellhousing.
Also just today I picked up another flathead 8BA. was in a forty seven 1/2 ton so was obviously a swap in engine. Has car (narrow belt) pullys but water pump is a merc.

Has a stamped steel bellhousing. So i was kind wondering in maybe i have a merc, then I removed the 47 truck trans and there is a borg and beck presure plate!

Did only the mercs come with them?

The engine is stuck, havent pulled heads or pan . Yet.

Could very well be, Josh! But my truck came to me with a Merc pan, Merc heads, and was not a Merc. It is an EAB, which in my mind is better if not as glamorous.

There was a dizzying array of clutches used on flatheads, special PP spring rates and disc diameters for taxi, cop, passenger car, trucks... but I do believe the Merc is the only one that got the B&B. It probably cost 50 cents more than the Long, so they saved it for the upscale cars?
