Warrantee paying off!

Just bought my ex 3 weeks ago and i thought it need ball joints and had some slop in the steering wheel(not going back to center after turn). Its a 04 limited 6.0 4x4 with a hundredk on it. I got it through usaa as a certified ford vehile so i was able to get a 2 year 24 k warrantee, its not bumper to bumper but pretty damn close. So i brought it over there fpr a steering box and asked them to check the ball joints, he said np then i said if that was all covered and he laughed and said it has a hundred k right? I said ya just check, he looked at the screen and his eyes lite up and said jesus i think so! Damn that felt good , i just hope that tightens up the front end a bit!

Warranty's are always iffy, but if the cover one big ticket item, then the gamble paid off!
When I bought my 94 F350 CC/4x new, I worked the guy down to 1100 for the 100k Ford Premium B to B everything but bulbs, brakes and bug juice, and when the trans went at 48k, I was a happy camper. I ended up having a few things done that were covered before I sold it, leaks seeps and stuff and all in all, that one paid for itself.
Good Luck with your new Ex!

They are iffy, but can pay off at times. The original 100K warranty took care of a few small things on the X, but had Ford offered that 7yr/200K warranty at the time, I wouldn't have had to pay for a transmission out of pocket at 127K

I've been looking at selling my 07 Expy EL in favor of an 05 Excursion 6.0. I got pre approved from USAA for financing the difference in vehicles... how did you go about getting this extra warranty? Also, if you don't mind, how much was it?

Thanks in advance!

Well i asked usaa if they had anything available for warrantee and they did but it was for one year and 3k. So when i went there i asked the salesman if they had anything and he came up with 2 yr 24k mi for 2700. By the time i was done with verbal judo i paid 400 for it

Ok so the warranty wasn't through usaa at all then, it was through the dealer, right? Nice job on negotiating down to $400. This would be the first and probably only vehicle I bought warranty on.

Thanks for the explanation.
