Vacuum pump interaction with E4OD Trans?
Hey all, just bought my '91 and working on figuring out a bunch of stuff. truck has an E4OD and seems very late to shift - know the trans is electronic but where's the info to shift come from - is one of my vacuum pumps the cause?

if your tach and speedo appear to be accurate,then start by checking your tps settings;

was told by the seller - speedo was off by about 5mph - haven't driven it enough to check although the tach is way off. am diagnosing multiple issues - rough/no idle etc. thought the tach (lack thereof) was due to the idle and hard start which I attributed to the injector caps leaking/sucking air. read the thread about checking gp's yesterday - so need to ease on in as time allows with basic understandings first. gp relay has melt marks around where the smaller wires come out the side - was planning on buying the gp kit from Accurate Diesel ($152) later today which includes the relay (although need to check the brand of gp - seems you all recommend the Beru. thx guys

i am not positive, but i am pretty sure the accurate diesel kit comes with diesel rx/wellman plugs.

VSS vehicle speed sensor is on the speedo cable on 90-91 e40d's, and TPS throttle position sensor, is on IP linkage, is ajustable however is sensitive, ther is some links to procedures on tps some where...
