I am rebuilding my 75 F100 4x4. I need to put emblems on the box and cab. How do I find out if my truck was a standard or custom or something else, and exactly which emblems I need to put on?
I think all I need on the cab is the F100 emblem on both passenger and drivers side.

Decode the data plate located on the driver's door to determine the body/trim level...
But is there not an emblem on the glovebox door? If not, don't forget to find one for that... Btw, the glovebox XLT emblem is kinda hard to find in the wrecking yards... expensive otherwise as a repro.

Thought about that right after I posted. It's a Ranger.
The box is from an unknown f-series with the holes already drilled for the emblems. How many peg holes should there be for the ranger emblem?
There is also one hole in the box over each tail light. Any idea what that should be for?
My bed is a Ranger but my cab, fenders, and (likely) the hood are Custom. I rebadged the cab as a Ranger and installed the missing Ranger bed emblems but don't recall how many mounting studs there are.
If it has a hole above the tail light there should be a corresponding hole(s) for tail light bezels. If I recall correctly there were two-hole and three-hole versions depending on trim. Dennis Carpenter's catalog clarifies the differences.
1967/72 Stylesides use two different types of taillamp mouldings, but 1973/79's use only one type...attach to bed with No. 8 -18 x 3/4" long Philips head screws, 2 per side, one upper, one lower.

Ah yes. I gots both a bump and a dent so me parts thinkins be mixed and matched sometimes.
I should have been more specific guys. The tail lights are already installed. About 2 inches below each tail light there is a single hole about as big as this face . Could be an aftermarket alteration. Just curious if something belonged there or if it would give a clue to the year of the bed.
There are 8 horizontal holes on each rear side of the box where the emblems are supposed to go. Numbers Dummy, does that give you any clue of what emblem is supposed to go there?
