Was leaning toward PSD's recommendation and go with Readylift's 1.5" bottom spacers. Want to run 35's and look right but don't want it to be nose high. Any thoughts?
My thought is, You can save money, buying the lift on Ebay. As long as the puck is steel, or Aluminium, and comes with the hardware, it is as good as the readylift.
My issue with Readylift (Long story now) is I went with their "kit" as it was supposed to "maintain your factory ride". Well on a Coil sprung Super Duty, Caster is an issue. (Not all have the problem's I am having, it all depend's on where the tolerances were from ford) Now my truck Dart's and is miserable on the Highway. I Emailed Readylift, to see if they had Radius arm Drop brackets, and told them of my problem. They said Yep, we have them, they are $350. I said "This is supposed to maintain my factory ride, it didn't, and I just want the bracket's. (I will gladly pay for the bracket's, but $350) So now I am buying another manufacturers parts, to try and get Readylift's "kit" to work. Had I known all this, I would have bought Rough Country 3" lift kit, and had EVERYTHING to do it right, For (If you consider the extra pieces I get to buy, to make it work) about $300 less.
My alignment shop can't get more caster in the traditional way's, so now I NEED to drop the arm's, than get it aligned again.
Buy an Ebay 1.5 inch lift and be done, and save yourself some money. I don't think a 1.5" lift will hurt much, but I also didn't think 2.5" would hurt that much either.
This is my story, and I know others don't have this issue, and some do. There are better options out there for the same or less money.
Readylift will never see money from me again, and I will do my absolute best to make sure my friend's don't buy from them.
All I want is the drop bracket's at a reasonable cost, and that aint happening, so..........
EDIT: If You can wait 2week's, I will give you a 1" spacer. I Have to buy another "kit" to get the radius arm drop bracket's I need. I do not want the 1" spacer that comes with the kit, and could get it to you for shipping, if you want it.
Wow that really sucks man. I appreciate the story and the advice. I also appreciate the offer on the spacers but i think I'll just buy some 1.5's. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
Is it the track arm drop bracket that you had to get?
My kit came with the track bar drop bracket. I need the Radius arm bracket's. (The 2 huge arm's that hold your axle to the truck.) When you lift the truck, it rotates the front of the axle down, removing some caster, if you lower the Radius arm mounting point's, you rotate the axle back, and gain some caster back. I am however worried, that a 3" drop on the radius arm's, is going to give me too much caster, than I am back to square 1, and my wife will be yelling in my ear......Again!
I should clear some things up. My "kit" is well built, and everything work's as it should. I have No issues with the build quality, or even the price I paid. My issue is I can't just get the bracket's to lower my arms.
With that being said, you can build, or buy the same exact stuff from Ebay cheaper. There is no rocket science involved in the spacers, You could easily shim the carrier bearing, F-350 block's are at every JunkYard, and the Rough Country Trac Bar bracket is fairly cheap.
